Before The Trip

Check for travel advisories depending on the country you’re from as requirements vary. Also, read Thailand consulate guidelines for travel guidelines.

Thailand requires:

– Travel insurance. I used Safety Wing. Their website is really easy to use. You select the dates of your travel plus a few days after and purchase.

– Your passport should have at least 6 months until the expiration date.

– Proof of accommodations with address and phone number. I printed out my hotel receipt. An itinerary would also be good.

–  Show you are able to sustain your trip. I had Thai baht on hand. Have some cash on hand in case you are asked at immigration.

– A return ticket.

– Thailand has strict laws regarding drugs and defamation. Read about it before you leave.

Tip: Try to have a paper print out of your hotel information and outbound ticket if asked. Handing over your phone may be uncomfortable for you.
